I'm sorry, I do not have access to personal information about you. If you are asking whether you are from East Germany based on your birthplace or nationality, you would need to provide that information for me to answer accurately. **

East Germany is poorer than West Germany primarily due to the lasting effects of the division of the country after World War II. The communist regime in East Germany led to a centrally planned economy that was less efficient and innovative compared to the market economy in West Germany. Additionally, the reunification process in 1990 resulted in significant challenges for East Germany, including high unemployment, outdated infrastructure, and a lack of investment. These factors have contributed to the economic disparities between the two regions. **

East Germany and West Germany differ in several ways. One of the most significant differences is their political and economic systems. East Germany was under communist rule and had a planned economy, while West Germany was a capitalist democracy with a market economy. Additionally, there were differences in infrastructure, living standards, and access to consumer goods between the two regions. After the reunification of Germany in 1990, efforts were made to bridge these gaps and create a more unified country. **
